The foundation's mission is

To restore, preserve and maintain the National Historic Civil War properties, architecture and other legacies associated with Seminary Ridge at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and provide to related education and communication of these legacies for the benefit of the public.

The Foundation employs a part-time project coordinator and part-time operations support. Volunteers play a crucial role in Foundation efforts, as does the 14-member Board of Directors and the Advisory Board.
